G2 Esports styles itself as the most entertaining esports organisation in the entire world, and it’s also one of the most successful judging by its 100+ competition wins and a global fanbase of over 30 million. But where do you go when you’re already at the top? Well, space, of course!
The State of Play
The G2 Esports team approached us to help send a special-edition jersey into space ahead of the Esports World Cup in Riyadh later this year. Obviously, we were delighted to help, so we asked them to send us a jersey as soon as possible for us to start engineering the craft. Little did we know that G2 had a little treat lined up for us; when we unfolded the jersey, we discovered that it had ‘SPACEMAN’ emblazoned on the back. Nice touch, G2!

The Custom G2 Esports Spacecraft
As cool as the cheeky player-name addition was, it did make things slightly more complicated. Obviously the front of the jersey was the main event, as it proudly displayed the G2, Esports World Cup, Red Bull and Logitech logos. However, we could hardly let the easter egg on the back go unnoticed, could we? So, we set about creating a dual aspect rig to simultaneously capture views of the front and back of the shirt.

Launching a G2 Esports Jersey Into Space
With the Esports World Cup being such a prestigious tournament and G2 a behemoth of the sport, we knew we needed a launch site that would lend a sense of grandeur to the whole affair, and what better place to pick than a disused World War runway! With all pre-flight checks done and dusted, we launched the craft and used our trusty drone to capture some epic shots of it ascending from the runway into the clouds. Be sure to check out the video below to witness the final footage of the jersey floating majestically in space. Trust us, it won’t disappoint.
