Inspiring children with space
The most prominent science advocates of our age all agree that space exploration and colonisation will be a vital stepping stone in the development of humankind. Inspiring young people to learn about space and encouraging an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects has been one of our aims ever since we started Sent Into Space. Scattering ashes in space: the final journey
Since Sent Into Space was founded in 2011, we’ve had more emails asking about scattering ashes in space than almost any other topic. When Chris and Alex discussed their aspirations for the business, back when they were still two guys working out of the attic in Alex’s old house, it was one of the first things to go on the agenda. When I interviewed for my job back in 2016, we spent a good twenty minutes talking about how a space scattering service would work. Space scattering

Research in space
We get a lot of attention for our marketing and publicity projects, with good reason. However, some of the work we’re most proud of doesn’t make it to the front page of Reddit or garner millions of likes on Facebook. As well as being a visually stunning location to shoot imagery of the Earth, the Near Space environment is also a useful test environment for a range of useful technologies and materials. It gets even worse: you’re a small business, which means you have a limited marketing budget, so you really don’t want to put al

Launching around the world
Sent Into Space makes its home in Sheffield, Great Britain and we have a dedicated launch site there, as well as several others dotted across the country, where we can conduct a flight within a few days’ notice. The majority of our launches for our own projects go up from this site. Our proximity to the Peak District National Park means every launch has the opportunity to capture some stunning imagery of the rolling countryside that has earned Yorkshire the nickname God’s Own

Drinks in Space
The first drink ever sent to space was in 1984 on board NASA’s Space Shuttle. Coca Cola initially had the idea of testing a soda dispenser on a spacecraft, but after catching ear of the project, Pepsi also jumped onboard, leading to the two brands modifying their iconic drinks cans in light of the microgravity, and other unique conditions, found in space. Since then, several different types of drinks have travelled to the final frontier, whiskey bottles, cocktails, milkshakes

Food in Space | A taste of the extraordinary
Over the years we’ve sent a fair few culinary treats into space for our clients. Most famously, we advertised the World Pie Eating Championship in 2016 by launching a meat and potato pie, garnering hundreds of millions of views for the event across social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube, as well as featuring in national print media and TV news programs across the world, all at a fraction of the cost of a traditional marketing exercise. Compared to some of the items
