Help VISA to execute the first ever contactless commercial transaction in space.

CAMPAIGN

We launched a Loyaltek point-of-sale card terminal into space and engineered a robot arm to tap a VISA Mooncard onto the device at the perfect moment. As the card reached the apex of the flight, our onboard computer activated the arm to execute the transaction.

This was an incredibly technically complex activation. Although it was challenging to design a robotic arm to function in the extremes of space, the greatest hurdle that we overcame was maintaining a stable internet connection to the terminal at an altitude of 111,000ft.
