We sent a festival headliner into space

Festival season is just around the corner and at Sent Into Space HQ, we’re already starting to get a bit excited about the prospect of seeing some of our favourite artists blasting out their biggest tunes in the summer sun, fingers crossed.

With this in mind, the team were over the moon when Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday, and Kevin Baird - better known as indie legends, Two Door Cinema Club - asked us to help them launch their new album, False Alarm - literally!

To celebrate the release of the band’s aptly named new single, Satellite, we teamed up with the trio for an out of this world album launch that saw us send Two Door Cinema Club’s latest record soaring to an altitude of 98,432 feet above the Earth’s surface.

Two Door Cinema Club are already set to headline some of our favourite nearby festivals this July, starting with Sheffield’s legendary Tramlines Festival in Hillsborough Park, before heading to nearby Derbyshire to play Y Not Festival.

With the band hitting new heights (they’re even playing Glastonbury!), it seemed only right that we helped their album do the same thing with an iconic space launch, which we streamed live to over 23,000 fans around the world via the band’s official Facebook page.

There was even a dramatic 10-second countdown to launch, and Two Door’s loyal following lapped up the exciting ‘atmosphere’ and got involved in their droves, with over 1.3 thousand comments on the live launch stream!

As they joined fans in watching the record climb higher and higher above the ground, Alex, Sam and Kevin discussed all things False Alarm, including their favourite tracks and details of Two Door Cinema Club’s upcoming UK tour.

It was a memorable experience for all involved and we can’t wait to hear the new album in full - best of luck boys!
