Perform the world's first extraterrestrial Solana transaction
SOLYD is an innovative startup blurring the lines between hardware solutions and blockchain technologies by incorporating Web3 assets into mobile phone accessories.
To celebrate the release of its new SBT-paired phone cases, SOLYD approached us to send one of them into space … oh, and perform the world’s first ever Solana blockchain transaction while it’s up there!
EXECUTION
Luckily for SOLYD, pushing frontiers is kind of our MO, so we locked the engineers in the lab and set about making the dream into a reality.
By the time the technical team had surfaced, they’d managed to engineer a craft that would safely transport the phone and case into space, and it was also lightweight enough to incorporate the bevy of modified communications systems required to effect the crypto transaction in real time.
In order to incorporate a sense of theatre into the proceedings, they’d also designed and built a capacitive robotic stylus to interact with the phone and perform the final ‘swipe to approve’ action. Nice.
