MISSION

Promote the World Pie Eating Championships by sending a pie to space

Wigan pub Harry's Bar is known for its role as host of the World Pie Eating Championships. To celebrate the host and promote 2016's competition, Harry's Bar approached us with a singular goal in mind: launching the world's first pie into space.

EXECUTION

In late 2016, we were approached by the Wigan-based organisers of the World Pie Eating Championships. Year on year they conduct a new stunt to generate awareness of the event — in 2016, they decided to outdo themselves by launching a pie into space for the first time ever.

Immediately after the launch, footage from the craft was relayed back to our head office for a rapid production turnaround, to capitalise on the initial buzz around the pie's launch.

Footage from the pie's journey was shared by Harry's Bar and the stunt garnered huge amounts of press and social media attention, with reports from outlets such as the BBC and Sky News.
